In the district of Celle, in the Lüneburger Heide in the middle of the nature park Südheide, lies the small village Dalle. The tranquil village belongs to the municipality of Eschede and is surrounded by fields, ponds and vast forests. Seemingly endless paths invite you to exciting hikes, bike tours, carriage rides, horseback rides, walks and excursions in clear air and gentle tranquility.

The Südheide Nature Park has been designated as a nature park worthy of protection since 1964. It has an area of about 500 km² and is characterised by large forest, moor, wetland and heath areas. The variety of landscape and nature is a discoverer's paradise for nature lovers. To familiarise yourself with the Naturpark Südheide we recommend to visit the exhibition about it in Eschede. The park’s different landscape elements, its flora & fauna and its cultural history are the focus of this exhibition. The exhibition consists of three rooms with about 150 m² and shows the effects of climate change in the past, present and future - illustrated with vivid examples, presented in multimedia form, on the topics Historical farming, Water worlds, Landscapes.

The exhibition at Eschede train station (Bahnhofstraße) is open all year round from Monday to Sunday in the time from 10 AM to 6 PM. Visit absolutely worthwhile - admission free. Immerse yourself and discover the diversity of the Südheide Nature Parc.

Cool down in the bright blue pool in Eschede. The outdoor pool in Eschede has a 25-meter swimming pool with 1- and 3-meter diving boards, a non-swimmers' pool with an island, a water surge and a wide slide. The pools are lined with foil, fresh water flows in around the clock.

For the youngest visitors there is a separate pool with shallow water, a small slide and a bubble mushroom. Right next door is the large play area with seesaw and swings. Food and drink are provided by the kiosk with a large terrace and beer garden area.

Kloster Wienhausen - Jewel of North German Brick Gothic

The Monastery “Kloster Wienhausen“ was founded around 1230 by Agnes von Landsberg, a daughter-in-law of Henry the Lion, Duchess in Celle, as a Cistercian monastery. Today it is probably the best known of the six Heide monasteries, and also still a running monastery. At present there are twelve conventuals and the abbess who belong to the convent and take care of the monastery itself, the exhibition of Gothic tapestries and the monastery museum. The building is a work of art of North German brick Gothic and has a magnificent and unique double gable. Among the important buildings still preserved from the early days are the west wing with its painted nuns' choir, the All Saints' Chapel and the chapter house. Since the Wienhausen monastery was spared from war and fire, it still possesses a large number and variety of amazing art objects from the Middle Ages. In addition to the beautiful wall paintings and impressive sculptures, the world-famous Gothic tapestries from the 13th to 15th centuries are quite special.

Wild animals - Feeding tours - Flight shows - Falconry show. On 10 hectares you can discover 30 animal species in large natural enclosures and get very close to them. In addition to the nearly 200 animals, there is a barefoot path, bouncy cushions and climbing facilities. The daily feedings and bird of prey flight shows, from March to October, as well as the regular events in the Müden Wildlife Park make a visit an experience for the whole family. "Berlin Air Bridge"-Museum Faßberg

A visit to the Airbridge Museum should definitely be scheduled. The Airlift, established in 1948, was a gigantic undertaking that required enormous logistics and turned former enemies into friends. The Berlin Air Bridge Memorial in Faßberg gives an impression of the efforts and motivations of the Allies to guarantee the freedom of Berlin.

German Petroleum Museum in Wietze

Here you can experience the history of the German petroleum industry. As early as the middle of the 17th century, individual farmers in Wietz were extracting oil-bearing sand from so-called tar pits and selling the oil extracted from it as a lubricant and remedy. In 1858/59, geologist Prof. Konrad Hunäus drilled one of the world's first oil wells here (ahead of Colonel Drake's legendary one on Oil Creek in Titusville, Pennsylvania).

Leuchtend blau lockt die Erfrischung. Das Freibad Eschede hat ein 25-Meter-Schwimmerbecken mit 1- und 3-Meter-Sprunganlagen, ein Nichtschwimmerbecken mit Insel, Wasserschwall und Breitrutsche. Die Becken sind mit Folie ausgekleidet, rund um die Uhr strömt frisches Wasser nach. Für die jüngsten Besucher gibt es ein separates Becken mit flachem Wasser, eine kleine Rutsche und einen Sprudelpilz. Gleich nebenan liegt die große Spielfläche mit Wippe und Schaukel.
